Job Opportunity - Ebay Product Manager
Primary Job Responsibilities: In this critical role, the product manager will take ownership of the key components of the testing infrastructure for eBay. This includes identifying requirements, defining product vision and strategy, creating preliminary design concepts, and leading the implementation of the testing infrastructure with engineering. The product manager will also work closely with other functional groups, including Advertising, Finding, and Customer Intelligence. The successful product manager must be able to • lead the management and development of the testing infrastructure, including prioritization and implementation of product and platform enhancements, definition of user interfaces, determination of resource allocations, and ongoing product development. • translate business information needs into business requirements, formally document and present business requirements to constituencies with quantified business case / ROI justifications • create detailed product requirements documents to work with technical staff to define and ship new products and features. • build positive relationships and trust over time through strong on-time delivery, high quality, continuous innovation, and the exceeding of expectations. • evangelize the testing infrastructure throughout eBay. • define, track and improve key product metrics and develop tests against those metrics. • work with management and others to further develop product strategy and identify new opportunities and markets. Job Requirements: Must be passionate about e-commerce, emerging web technologies, and community building with a demonstrated track record of visionary execution. Must have at least 5 years experience in a product management role preferably in building web products, with a demonstrated ability to drive product planning, development, and launch. The ideal candidate would have a keen understanding of the most recent trends around consumer web usage and direct hands-on experience with e-commerce. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a highly matrixed organization to deliver successful products. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to interact and understand technical subjects/emerging technologies and their relevance to the marketplace. Must be able to interact with diverse groups of technical and non-technical people. Must be able to communicate effectively to senior executives internally and externally.
