Vice President/Director - Viral Marketing JOB DESCRIPTION: The ideal candidate is a creative marketer who generates and executes ideas, aligning strategy and overall business goals in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. A strong track record in interactive marketing and building website traffic is essential, with a working knowledge of the messaging/collaboration marketplace. Branding/creative skills are essential. Strong background in direct marketing using the latest marketing technologies , i.e. viral/WOM marketing, social media, podcasting, blogging, and the ability to leverage each for marketing purposes. The ability to quickly generate effective marketing copy . Creative design skills a definite plus. Must be a critical thinker with strong analytical skills and a focus on ROI. An inspiring and motivating individual contributor who can lead by example to get the job done. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Develop and execute creative marketing programs that drive usage and awareness of Soapbox • Define, quantify and prioritize target market segments • Manage direct traffic acquisition programs, including SEO, viral/social media promotion, link building and search box distribution • Manage visitor engagement and loyalty marketing programs - Collaborating with Product Management and improve overall user experience • Manage aspects of website monetization, including cost-per-action marketplace(s) • Conduct market research STOP! Please do not read any further if… • You do not have consumer Internet experience • You are not a creative, aggressive marketer with the drive and energy to win in a competitive industry • Your primary goal is to "manage people" and you require a large staff, budget, and infrastructure • You are unwilling to invest the personal time and effort required to excel in a fast paced, high growth company. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum of 8 years of online and offline marketing experience – with at least 5 years of Internet marketing/customer acquisition experience • Bachelors in marketing, business, communications • Demonstrated understanding of online media, usage patterns, revenue models, emerging technologies. • Experience in new product launches, preferably online products, with hands-on experience with online marketing tactics and tools, and familiarity with underlying technology of internet applications. • Thorough knowledge and understanding of interactive analytic tools, market forecasting, media planning, implementation and performance analysis. • Relevant experience in online/traditional media on the content or agency side in a strategic/quantitative/analytical role. • Must have experience and demonstrated success in developing strategies of customer acquisition, retention and rapid growth of online audience on limited budget. • Proven expertise at creating high buzz/word of mouth/viral marketing • Strong organizational skills • Energy, enthusiasm, initiative, and strong creativity. • Enjoys and thrives in a growing and fast-paced environment |
