Should you be discouraged?

Here are a few interesting questions that I would like to ask all the board members and executives out there.

Often, people are trying to come up with a business that has never been done before, but we all know that chances are it has been done before. So for the folks who are working so hard on their idea, but soon found out that it has been worked on. In fact, their competitors does almost the same thing as they have vision, with just more minor tweeks and add on features. Should they be discourage? Should they continue with the idea? How should they over come it? If they decide to keep on going with it, is there anything that they need to keep in mind?

I am sure this is a very common thing to entrepreneurs, and I would like to know what your thoughts are. And if you have a story to share with us, that would be awsome.

Please reply.

Being the first to do something is not always the key to building a successful business. Sometimes doing it better eclipses the competition. Better customer service, finding better ways to reach your target market, positioning at a different subset of the market etc. etc. And don't ever get discouraged. One day, one of your ideas will be THE IDEA.
