#3. Overall, regardless of size and industry, thriving U.S. companies spend an average of 9% of their revenue on marketing.

B E G I N. Perhaps 9% of your revenue seems like too big a chunk to spend on marketing right away. Okay. Begin with 4%. The key is to reinvest marketing dollars in your company consistently and systematically. Once you see the results of consistently allocating 4% of your revenue to marketing, you’ll want to increase the percentage.
